Based on the study of a lot of material objects and ancient literature as well as the investigation from among the Buddhists and herdsmen in DZi Beads prevailing areas, it is believed to be true that DZi Beads can be used as medicine. However, it is hard to explain some of the phenomena and things by modern science for they may involve in something metaphysical, same as many mysterious natural phenomena and medical phenomena. Anyway, this is not about these concepts of potential science.

The differences of natural DZi Beads and artificial beads are specified in Tibetan Medicine book Shel Gong Shel Phreng (Jing Zhu Ben Cao). DZi, pain killer, easy to be identified for its shapes and patterns. Its grain is often very long in black, yellow, and brown colors and its sports are small. The artificial ones are often with distorted grains for your knowledge. The natural DZi is with gyro wheel shape and the grain can be nine times longer which can be applied on eyes to gain healing effects. The cold water in which it is soaked overnight can stop bleeding and can be taken orally; if it is smeared on the arrow heads, it can ward off evil.
